Description
Calculate the stock-volume fraction in a supplied two-volume mixture.
Product and study records may contain printed potency, radix, stock and evidence labels. A nominal dilution fraction or expected-molecule model is a mathematical assumption, not a measure of therapeutic effect. Preserving those records does not verify composition, evidence, safe use or efficacy.
Calculate the stock-volume fraction in a supplied two-volume mixture.
When to use this tool
Use Dilution Transfer Stock Fraction when you already have stockVolume, diluentVolume and need to calculate the stock-volume fraction in a supplied two-volume mixture.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter stockVolume, diluentVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read stockFraction. Use the output convention below.
Require stock/diluent volumes>=0 and positive sum; return stock/(stock+diluent).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| stockVolume | Stock Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| diluentVolume | Diluent Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| stockFraction | stockVolume/(stockVolume+diluentVolume); extreme direct-sum overflow can return zero, so rescale consistent units first. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Assumes additive compatible volumes. Extreme direct sums can overflow, so use common rescaled units. The fraction does not establish molecular concentration, potency, product identity or therapeutic efficacy.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the original product and study records and evaluate the actual evidence separately from printed labels. Use a verified chemical model and measurements for composition questions; local dilution arithmetic does not validate a treatment or infer clinical benefit.
