Dilution Step Expected Molecule Fraction

Apply an explicit repeated independent retention fraction to an expected count under ideal mixing; this arithmetic does not establish therapeutic efficacy.

Description

Calculate an ideal repeated-dilution expected molecule count.

Product and study records may contain printed potency, radix, stock and evidence labels. A nominal dilution fraction or expected-molecule model is a mathematical assumption, not a measure of therapeutic effect. Preserving those records does not verify composition, evidence, safe use or efficacy.

Calculate an ideal repeated-dilution expected molecule count.

When to use this tool

Use Dilution Step Expected Molecule Fraction when you already have initialExpectedMolecules, retainedFraction, steps and need to calculate an ideal repeated-dilution expected molecule count.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter initialExpectedMolecules, retainedFraction, steps. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read expectedMolecules, remainingFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require initial expectation>=0, retainedFraction in [0,1] and nonnegative safe whole steps; remainingFraction=fraction^steps and expected=initial*remainingFraction.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • An expectation may be fractional and is not an actual molecule count. Zero steps uses fraction^0=1, including 0^0; underflow can return zero without proving physical absence. No potency, safety or efficacy is assessed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect the original product and study records and evaluate the actual evidence separately from printed labels. Use a verified chemical model and measurements for composition questions; local dilution arithmetic does not validate a treatment or infer clinical benefit.
