Description
Verify duplicateSkipped equals repeated skip records, then subtract distinct skipped indexes from nominalSections.
Histology counting uses eligible objects, sampled areas, exclusions, and reference planes. The chosen denominator and boundary rules affect the result, while actual object identification and sampling validity require separate review.
Verify duplicateSkipped equals repeated skip records, then subtract distinct skipped indexes from nominalSections.
When to use this tool
Use Section Ribbon Skipped Count when you need one supplied counting or support component under an explicit protocol.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter firstIndex, lastIndex, skipped, duplicateSkipped. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read nominalSections, retainedSections. Use the output convention below.
Require an ordered inclusive index range and skipped indexes inside it. Verify duplicateSkipped equals repeated skip records, then subtract distinct skipped indexes from nominalSections.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| firstIndex | First Index | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| lastIndex | Last Index | Required. Safe integer. |
| skipped | Skipped | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| duplicateSkipped | Duplicate Skipped | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| nominalSections | Nominal Sections | Required. Safe integer. |
| retainedSections | Retained Sections | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The duplicate budget validates supplied bookkeeping; it does not infer actual section loss, mounted sections, or tissue adequacy.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
