Quarterly Quadrant Assignment Order Checker

Audit declared quarterly order1–4 in a named viewer frame; does not identify arms from imagery.

Description

Quarter order is read in a defined viewing frame.

Quarter order is read in a defined viewing frame.1

The standard four-position sequence used here runs from viewer upper left to upper right, lower left and lower right.

When to use Quarterly Quadrant Assignment Order Checker

Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Establish the source tradition, viewing frame, coordinate units and independently annotated features.

How to use Quarterly Quadrant Assignment Order Checker and understand its results

  1. Establish the source tradition, viewing frame, coordinate units and independently annotated features.
  2. Enter annotatedQuarterOrdinals, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
  3. Read result.matchesEnglishQuarterOrder, using the output meanings and calculation rules below.
  4. Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.

Supply exactly four safe-integer ordinals, each 1..4. Compare each position with [1,2,3,4] and return a boolean for complete equality. Duplicate valid-range ordinals produce false rather than a separate uniqueness error.

matches=(ordinals exactly equal [1,2,3,4])

Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

The positions must already be annotated in viewer order. This does not detect quarters in an image or validate ownership of their arms.

Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries; ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of 128 UTF-16 units each; numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to narrower requirements above. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.

Alternative or Complementary methods

For a related step, use Ordinal Number to Quarter Position Mapper: A quarter's ordinal can be converted into a row and column in a declared grid. For a complementary comparison, use Four-Quarter Charge Layout Positions Generator: A four-quarter layout divides a rectangular envelope into two rows and two columns.
