Four-Quarter Charge Layout Positions Generator
Four quarter-center positions in a rectangular envelope, viewer row-major order1–4.
Description
A four-quarter layout divides a rectangular envelope into two rows and two columns.
A four-quarter layout divides a rectangular envelope into two rows and two columns.1
Cell centers support placement without clipping to a shield contour.
When to use Four-Quarter Charge Layout Positions Generator
Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Establish the source tradition, viewing frame, coordinate units and independently annotated features.
How to use Four-Quarter Charge Layout Positions Generator and understand its results
- Establish the source tradition, viewing frame, coordinate units and independently annotated features.
- Enter fieldWidth, fieldHeight, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read result.centers, result.cellWidth, result.cellHeight, using the output meanings and calculation rules below.
- Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| fieldWidth | Field width | number | Required |
| fieldHeight | Field height | number | Required |
Use positive field width and height, each at most 1000000000, for a fixed two-by-two grid. Return cell width w/columns, cell height h/rows and centers in row-major order from viewer upper left, with x right and y down.
center(row,col)=[(col+0.5)w/columns,(row+0.5)h/rows]; cellWidth=w/columns; cellHeight=h/rows Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| result | Calculated observation or reference | object |
| result.centers | centers | list |
| result.cellWidth | cell Width | number |
| result.cellHeight | cell Height | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
This divides a rectangular envelope. It does not clip to a shield, account for outlines or assess visual spacing.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.
Alternative or Complementary methods
For a related step, use Quarterly Quadrant Assignment Order Checker: Quarter order is read in a defined viewing frame. For a complementary comparison, use Ordinal Number to Quarter Position Mapper: A quarter's ordinal can be converted into a row and column in a declared grid.
