Paly Vertical Stripes Count Solver
Divide explicit fieldWidth into caller ordered stripe weights; does not infer tinctures or mandated stripe counts.
Description
Paly layouts divide an extent into adjoining vertical bands.
Paly layouts divide an extent into adjoining vertical bands.1
Relative weights can specify unequal widths while preserving the total declared extent.
When to use Paly Vertical Stripes Count Solver
Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Establish the source tradition, viewing frame, coordinate units and independently annotated features.
How to use Paly Vertical Stripes Count Solver and understand its results
- Establish the source tradition, viewing frame, coordinate units and independently annotated features.
- Enter fieldWidth, stripeWeights, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
- Read result.widths, result.boundaries, using the output meanings and calculation rules below.
- Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| fieldWidth | Field width | number | Required |
| stripeWeights | Stripe weights | list of number | Required |
Use a positive field width and a nonempty list of strictly positive stripe weights. Sum weights, assign each width as fieldWidth×weight/totalWeight and accumulate boundaries starting at zero. Return widths and boundaries in stripe order.
width_i=fieldWidth×weight_i/Σweights; boundary_0=0; boundary_(i+1)=boundary_i+width_i Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| result | Calculated observation or reference | object |
| result.widths | widths | list |
| result.boundaries | boundaries | list |

} Limitations and assumptions
Floating-point accumulation can leave a small final rounding difference. Tinctures, stripe clipping and heraldic proportion requirements are not selected.
Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries; ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of 128 UTF-16 units each; numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to narrower requirements above. Extremely large composite outputs are rejected.
