Description

Add unclassified cells to the denominator only when includeUnclassified, then divide categoryCells by that denominator.

Blood-cell research counts require a defined eligible population, exclusion rule, sampled volume, and dilution basis. Their arithmetic fractions and densities are separate from validated laboratory results and clinical reference intervals.

Add unclassified cells to the denominator only when includeUnclassified, then divide categoryCells by that denominator.

When to use this tool

Use Hematology Differential One Cell Fraction when you need one transparent research count or denominator component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter categoryCells, classifiedCells, unclassifiedCells, includeUnclassified. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read denominator, categoryFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require positive classifiedCells, categoryCells within it, and nonnegative unclassifiedCells. Add unclassified cells to the denominator only when includeUnclassified, then divide categoryCells by that denominator.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Counts must describe compatible disjoint groups; changing the base changes the fraction, without identifying cells or selecting a laboratory reporting policy.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods
