Description
Convert a supplied hematocrit between fraction and percentage number.
Hematology records connect source annotations, specimens, instrument/reagent lots, unit bases and control references. A reported dilution correction depends on whether it has already been applied, while percentage and fraction are different representations. Local quantities and source tokens do not validate a sample, result or blood-product release.
Convert a supplied hematocrit between fraction and percentage number.
When to use this tool
Use Hematocrit Percent Fraction Crosswalk when you already have value, inputIsPercent and need to convert a supplied hematocrit between fraction and percentage number.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter value, inputIsPercent. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read fraction, percent. Use the output convention below.
Require value in [0,100] for percent input or [0,1] for fraction input; use fraction=percent/100 and percent=fraction*100.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| value | Fraction in [0,1] or percentage number in [0,100], selected by inputIsPercent. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| inputIsPercent | Input Is Percent | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| fraction | Fraction | Required. Finite number. |
| percent | Percent | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No hematocrit is measured or interpreted and no reference range, diagnosis or suitable treatment is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the original laboratory, QC and product-traceability records before combining results. Use the complete controlled method and reporting convention; one target deviation, volume balance or censoring label does not establish quality or clinical interpretation.
