Description

Divide positive fieldNumberMm by positive objectiveMagnification for fieldDiameterMm, multiply diameter by imageFraction in [0, 1], and calculate the corresponding circular sampled area.

Microscope and blood-component geometry relates pixel scale, field area, mass, volume, and sampling extent. A geometric conversion does not verify cell identity, specimen quality, or clinical suitability.

Divide positive fieldNumberMm by positive objectiveMagnification for fieldDiameterMm, multiply diameter by imageFraction in [0, 1], and calculate the corresponding circular sampled area.

When to use this tool

Use Blood Film Microscope Field Diameter Term when you need one explicit research measurement or geometric component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter fieldNumberMm, objectiveMagnification, imageFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read fieldDiameterMm, sampledDiameterMm, sampledAreaMm2. Use the output convention below.

Divide positive fieldNumberMm by positive objectiveMagnification for fieldDiameterMm, multiply diameter by imageFraction in [0, 1], and calculate the corresponding circular sampled area.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • ImageFraction scales diameter, so area scales by its square; this nominal optical relation does not validate the actual microscope field, image crop, or sampling quality.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify calibration, specimen handling, sampling, and professional laboratory interpretation separately.
