Research Cycle Day Offset Tool

Relabel supplied diary day indices under an explicit research origin, without cycle prediction.

Description

Subtract suppliedCycleOrigin from recordedDay and add one only when oneBased.

Menstrual and visit records can contain uncertain onsets, partial observation windows, and supplied day origins. A bounded interval calculation describes those records without predicting fertility or establishing a normal clinical pattern.

Subtract suppliedCycleOrigin from recordedDay and add one only when oneBased.

When to use this tool

Use Research Cycle Day Offset when you need one explicit day-coordinate or uncertainty-bound component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordedDay, suppliedCycleOrigin, oneBased. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read relativeDay. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Inputs are numeric day coordinates and negative relative days are allowed; this does not infer cycle onset, ovulation, fertility, pregnancy, or a normal cycle range.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Preserve uncertainty and consult an appropriate health professional for symptoms, clinical interpretation, or care scheduling.
