Menstrual Diary Cycle Length One Pair Tool

Report one supplied onset interval with explicit date uncertainty.

Description

Return onset difference and that difference minus or plus the sum of uncertainties.

Menstrual and visit records can contain uncertain onsets, partial observation windows, and supplied day origins. A bounded interval calculation describes those records without predicting fertility or establishing a normal clinical pattern.

Return onset difference and that difference minus or plus the sum of uncertainties.

When to use this tool

Use Menstrual Diary Cycle Length One Pair when you need one explicit day-coordinate or uncertainty-bound component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstOnsetDay, secondOnsetDay, firstUncertaintyDays, secondUncertaintyDays. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read nominalDays, minimumDays, maximumDays. Use the output convention below.

Require secondOnsetDay no earlier than first and nonnegative integer endpoint uncertainties. Return onset difference and that difference minus or plus the sum of uncertainties.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Day inputs are supplied coordinates and minimumDays may be negative; these are arithmetic bounds, not a statistical interval or a prediction of fertility, health, or future cycles.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Preserve uncertainty and consult an appropriate health professional for symptoms, clinical interpretation, or care scheduling.
