Description
Subtract nonnegative referencePixels from measuredPixels and multiply by positive lengthPerPixel.
Research image measurements depend on scale, orientation, landmarks, and reference planes. A coordinate or area-support calculation uses supplied inputs without examining an image or identifying anatomy.
Subtract nonnegative referencePixels from measuredPixels and multiply by positive lengthPerPixel.
When to use this tool
Use Image Reference Length Gap when you need one transparent image-scale or orientation component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter measuredPixels, referencePixels, lengthPerPixel. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read lengthGap. Use the output convention below.

| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| measuredPixels | Measured Pixels | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| referencePixels | Reference Pixels | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| lengthPerPixel | Length Per Pixel | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| lengthGap | Length Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Pixel lengths share an image scale and output retains a signed physical gap; no segmentation, actual calibration, anatomical measurement, or diagnosis is performed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Verify image calibration, anatomical reference conventions, measurement uncertainty, and professional interpretation separately.
