GLP Retained Sample Minimum Caller Gap Tool

Calculate glp retained sample minimum caller gap from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Subtract scheduled use and reserve for remaining, then required for margin and an inclusive sufficient flag.

Laboratory balances track material amounts, container counts, and storage positions. A balance model requires compatible units and a clear accounting boundary; arithmetic agreement is not evidence that the physical inventory or study record is complete.

Subtract scheduled use and reserve for remaining, then required for margin and an inclusive sufficient flag.

When to use this tool

Use GLP Retained Sample Minimum Caller Gap when you need a laboratory amount, inventory, or storage-budget calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter available, required, scheduledUse, reserve. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read remaining, margin, sufficient. Inspect sufficient before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative available, required, scheduledUse, and reserve. Subtract scheduled use and reserve for remaining, then required for margin and an inclusive sufficient flag.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • All amounts share units and remaining may be negative; required and reserve are supplied rather than regulatory minima or proof of adequate retained sample quality.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the actual inventory and study records using the laboratory's controlled method. Physical inspection and traceable measurements may be needed when record arithmetic leaves uncertainty.
