Geriatric Task Time Censored Limit Tool

Administrative time-limit recording for an observed task, not a performance or clinical classification.

Loading tool…

Description

Cap recordedSeconds at the limit, flag rightCensored when incomplete or above limit, and report exceededLimit independently.

A timed observation can end before the underlying task or event finishes. A recorded limit then describes the observation process; it does not necessarily provide the actual completion time or a known upper bound.

Cap recordedSeconds at the limit, flag rightCensored when incomplete or above limit, and report exceededLimit independently.

When to use this tool

Use Geriatric Task Time Censored Limit when you need to preserve completion and censoring distinctions in timed research data.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedSeconds, limitSeconds, completed. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordedSeconds, rightCensored, exceededLimit. Inspect rightCensored, exceededLimit before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative observedSeconds and positive limitSeconds. Cap recordedSeconds at the limit, flag rightCensored when incomplete or above limit, and report exceededLimit independently.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • A completed task above limit is censored under this reporting convention; no validated functional score, normal range, diagnostic meaning, or treatment recommendation is supplied.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a censoring-aware statistical method for incomplete observations. Keep event completion, observation limit, and measured duration separate rather than replacing every unfinished result with an exact completion time.
