Geomorphic Surface Age Bound Token Tool

Preserve an explicit geomorphic surface age transcription and bound convention without dating or calibration.

Description

Record the stated bound convention of a geomorphic surface age.

Geomorphic measurements distinguish signed coordinates, grain-size scales, profile derivatives and transported-mass or cross-section bases. A supplied datum adjustment or threshold does not detect a landform or establish a process. Plan distance, profile second derivative and slope-normalized curvature are different quantities.

Record the stated bound convention of a geomorphic surface age.

When to use this tool

Use Geomorphic Surface Age Bound Token when checking the stated local landform, sediment, profile or coordinate convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter surfaceId, ageText, boundConvention. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read token. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty surface ID, age text and bound-convention wording. Encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Age text and bound semantics are not parsed; no surface date, chronology or geochronological uncertainty is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated surveys, mapped geometry and suitable complete sediment/terrain models for trends, process interpretation, uncertainty or hazard assessment.
