Care Diary Activity Minute Count Tool

Measure a care-diary activity interval and its equal fractional time allocation across explicitly counted concurrent activities.

Description

Return elapsed duration and divide it equally across the supplied activity count.

A diary share compares recorded time with a chosen observation period. The interpretation depends on the activity definition, overlapping entries, and the denominator; arithmetic alone does not verify the completeness of the diary.

Return elapsed duration and divide it equally across the supplied activity count.

When to use this tool

Use Care Diary Activity Minute Count when you need a stated time-use share from supplied diary totals.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter startMinute, endMinute, simultaneousActivityCount. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read elapsedMinutes, fractionalAllocatedMinutes. Use the output convention below.

Require ordered nonnegative integer start/end minutes and positive simultaneousActivityCount. Return elapsed duration and divide it equally across the supplied activity count.1

endMinuteEnd MinuteRequired. Safe integer.
simultaneousActivityCountSimultaneous Activity CountRequired. Safe integer; minimum 1.

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is an equal fractional-allocation convention, not measured attention, care quality, effort, or a complete time-use analysis.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the full diary coding scheme and observation coverage before interpreting the share.
