Description

Sum eligible claim items, clamp remaining cap at zero, pay the lesser of claim and remaining cap, and return the uncovered remainder.

Clinical-trial accounting distinguishes nested participant counts, material disposition, and monetary claims. A consistent supplied budget or count model is useful for reconciliation but cannot verify actual people, material movements, or payment entitlement.

Sum eligible claim items, clamp remaining cap at zero, pay the lesser of claim and remaining cap, and return the uncovered remainder.

When to use this tool

Use GCP Participant Reimbursement Caller Cap when you need a transparent clinical-trial count or accounting calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter travel, parking, otherEligible, previousPaid, totalCap. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read claimEligible, remainingCap, payable, uncovered. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative travel, parking, otherEligible, previousPaid, and totalCap. Sum eligible claim items, clamp remaining cap at zero, pay the lesser of claim and remaining cap, and return the uncovered remainder.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Amounts share a currency and accounting basis. Previous payment may exceed the cap; eligibility and the cap are supplied, not a determination of entitlement, ethics approval, or actual payment authorization.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile authenticated logs and source records using the intended trial procedures. Use responsible quality, clinical, ethics, or financial review for actual material, participant, or reimbursement decisions.
