Motility Marker Transit Time

Subtract explicitly recorded marker times on one elapsed-hour timeline without inferring gastrointestinal transit physiology.

Loading tool…

Description

Measure elapsed hours between supplied motility-marker times.

Gastrointestinal study and procedure records use explicit specimen, assay, instrument, site and time conventions. A wet/dry mass label differs from converting a sample basis, while a recorded interval differs from a physiological transit estimate. Metadata alone does not establish anatomy, assay validity or a clinical finding.

Measure elapsed hours between supplied motility-marker times.

When to use this tool

Use Motility Marker Transit Time when checking the stated gastrointestinal record, measurement label or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter markerStartHours, markerEndHours. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read elapsedHours. Use the output convention below.

Require markerEndHours>=markerStartHours. Return end-start as elapsedHours.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
markerStartHoursMarker Start HoursRequired. Finite number.
markerEndHoursMarker End HoursRequired. Finite number.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
elapsedHoursDifference of supplied marker hours, not a verified whole-gut transit result.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Marker times are supplied rather than detected; this does not infer whole-gut transit, a normal range, diagnosis or treatment.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use original validated clinical/laboratory records and qualified medical interpretation for actual diagnostic, procedural or care decisions.
