Description
Use open parentheses and infinity glyphs for unbounded ends; use closed brackets and supplied literal endpoint text for bounded ends.
An interval's endpoints and bracket style encode inclusion rules. A range label or comparison symbol can describe supplied numbers without computing its members, proving an inequality or establishing a statistical confidence interval.
Use open parentheses and infinity glyphs for unbounded ends; use closed brackets and supplied literal endpoint text for bounded ends.
When to use this tool
Use Interval Unbounded End Glyph Policy when you need the specified interval or relation display.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter lower, upper, lowerUnbounded, upperUnbounded. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read text. Use the output convention below.

| upper | Literal upper endpoint text, not numerically parsed or ordered. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| lowerUnbounded | Lower Unbounded | Required. Boolean. |
| upperUnbounded | Upper Unbounded | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| text | Literal formatted output under the stated grammar and display convention. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Endpoints are not ordered or checked for empty intervals. Unbounded flags control display only, and unused endpoint strings remain required input fields.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a set or interval calculation for membership and emptiness beyond the supported convention. Verify units, unbounded endpoints and integer-versus-real interpretation before using a label as a mathematical specification.
