Description
Join with degree and prime/double-prime symbols.
A unit label is text describing a quantity's intended scale. Joining tokens, adding powers or choosing spacing changes presentation; it does not convert the quantity, validate dimensional compatibility or verify a unit registry entry.
Join with degree and prime/double-prime symbols.
When to use this tool
Use Degree Minute Prime Symbol Join when you need a specific quantity-and-unit text convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter degrees, minutes, seconds. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read text. Use the output convention below.
Require integer degree text with optional minus, unsigned integer minutes and unsigned ordinary-decimal seconds. Join with degree and prime/double-prime symbols.1

{
"input": {
"degrees": "12",
"minutes": "03",
"seconds": "4.5"
},
"output": {
"text": "12° 03′ 4.5″"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Minute/second values are not restricted below 60 and coordinates are not validated or normalized. The negative degree spelling is preserved without interpreting the full angle.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a unit-aware calculation for actual conversion and dimensional checks. Select a destination-appropriate typography and retain the intended unit meaning when preparing labels.
