Witness Transcript Inaudible Span Budget Tool

Disjoint inaudible and untranscribed duration accounting; no transcript reliability or testimony assessment.

Description

Return audible-transcribed time, inaudible fraction, and covered fraction excluding only untranscribed time.

Evidence records link identifiers, packaging, quantities and source assertions. Literal equality and balanced counts can reveal local inconsistencies, but they cannot authenticate physical evidence, establish custody completeness or determine legal admissibility.

Return audible-transcribed time, inaudible fraction, and covered fraction excluding only untranscribed time.

When to use this tool

Use Witness Transcript Inaudible Span Budget when you need a scoped evidence-record or quantity-reconciliation diagnostic.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter recordingSeconds, inaudibleSeconds, untranscribedSeconds. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read audibleTranscribedSeconds, inaudibleFraction, coveredFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require positive recording duration and nonnegative inaudible/untranscribed durations whose sum does not exceed it. Return audible-transcribed time, inaudible fraction, and covered fraction excluding only untranscribed time.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The two excluded categories are assumed disjoint. Coverage includes inaudible recorded spans and does not establish transcript accuracy or evidentiary admissibility.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review authenticated source records and the complete custody process through the appropriate professional procedure. Treat local flags as prompts for investigation rather than independent evidentiary conclusions.
