Food Distribution Eligible Unreached Gap Tool

Reconcile supplied duplicate-record adjustments against an eligible population.

Description

Compute reached-duplicateRecords+duplicateEligible, require it no greater than eligible, and return its complement.

Food access records may describe travel time, eligibility, household equivalents or service coverage. Each summary depends on its supplied denominator and classification; it is not a complete measure of household food security.

Compute reached-duplicateRecords+duplicateEligible, require it no greater than eligible, and return its complement.

When to use this tool

Use Food Distribution Eligible Unreached Gap when you need a transparent access, eligibility or coverage calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter eligible, reached, duplicateRecords, duplicateEligible. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read uniqueReached, unreached. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative integer counts and nested duplicate counts. Compute reached-duplicateRecords+duplicateEligible, require it no greater than eligible, and return its complement.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • DuplicateEligible adds back the eligible contribution under this supplied accounting convention. Records and eligibility are not independently resolved or verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the actual household context, service rules and source records. Combine appropriate field assessment with quantitative summaries when access, equity or nutritional needs matter.
