Description
Return household-equivalent packages and their ratio to households.
Food access records may describe travel time, eligibility, household equivalents or service coverage. Each summary depends on its supplied denominator and classification; it is not a complete measure of household food security.
Return household-equivalent packages and their ratio to households.
When to use this tool
Use Assistance Pack Household Factor when you need a transparent access, eligibility or coverage calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter packUnits, households, unitsPerHousehold. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read householdEquivalent, coverageFactor. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative pack units, positive household count and unitsPerHousehold. Return household-equivalent packages and their ratio to households.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Coverage can exceed one. The household factor is supplied rather than an entitlement, nutritional standard or assurance of equitable distribution.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the actual household context, service rules and source records. Combine appropriate field assessment with quantitative summaries when access, equity or nutritional needs matter.
