Description
Add exactInterest and priorCarry and require total between zero and 1e9.
Financial accounting arithmetic tracks amounts, balances, fees and allocations on a declared currency and sign basis. An algebraically consistent result does not authorize a transaction or establish an amount legally due.
Add exactInterest and priorCarry and require total between zero and 1e9.
When to use this tool
Use Finance: Loan Rounding Interest Carry Cent when you need a specified monetary balance or allocation calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter exactInterest, priorCarry. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.
Add exactInterest and priorCarry and require total between zero and 1e9. Round to cents by floor(total×100+0.5)/100 and return exact-minus-charged carry.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| exactInterest | Exact Interest | Required. Finite number. |
| priorCarry | Prior Carry | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| result | Object containing the calculated members; expand to inspect the fields below. | Required. Object. |
| result.chargedInterest | Charged Interest | Calculated result member: number. |
| result.carry | Exact input sum minus cent-rounded charge, a signed residual. | Calculated result member: number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Currency is assumed to have two decimal places. Binary floating-point ties may differ from decimal-ledger expectations; carry is a signed residual, not an extra fee.
- Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile source ledgers and governing agreements using the intended currency precision and accounting policy. Include omitted fees, tax, timing and legal requirements before acting on a result.
