Description

Clamp amount×rate between the supplied fee limits.

Financial accounting arithmetic tracks amounts, balances, fees and allocations on a declared currency and sign basis. An algebraically consistent result does not authorize a transaction or establish an amount legally due.

Clamp amount×rate between the supplied fee limits.

When to use this tool

Use Finance: Fee Cap Floor Single Transaction when you need a specified monetary balance or allocation calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter transactionAmount, feeRate, minimumFee, maximumFee. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.

Require nonnegative amount/rate/minimum and maximum at least minimum. Clamp amount×rate between the supplied fee limits.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Zero amount can still incur a positive minimum under this formula. Rates are fractions and bounds are supplied rather than verified legal or contractual fees.
  • Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile source ledgers and governing agreements using the intended currency precision and accounting policy. Include omitted fees, tax, timing and legal requirements before acting on a result.
