Feng Shui Sitting and Facing Mountain Calculator

Compute opposite facing/sitting bearings and conventional 15-degree twenty-four-mountain labels, north-centered half-open sectors; not a building assessment.

Description

Normalize facing modulo 360, add 180 for sitting, and map each into centered 15-degree sectors using the fixed 24-label list.

Traditional directional systems assign named sectors to compass bearings. A numerical sector mapping depends on its origin, widths and boundary convention; true and magnetic reference labels do not themselves perform a declination correction.

Normalize facing modulo 360, add 180 for sitting, and map each into centered 15-degree sectors using the fixed 24-label list.

When to use this tool

Use Feng Shui Sitting and Facing Mountain Calculator when you need the specified traditional bearing-label mapping.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter facingDegrees, reference. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.

Require facingDegrees 0-360 and true/magnetic reference. Normalize facing modulo 360, add 180 for sitting, and map each into centered 15-degree sectors using the fixed 24-label list.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The reference token is retained without declination conversion. These are traditional symbolic bearing labels, not evidence of favorable outcomes, environmental safety or scientific prediction.
  • Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an appropriate compass and coordinate-reference method for actual orientation. Treat symbolic sector labels as a cultural convention and assess practical building or environmental questions through the relevant professional methods.
