Sequence Divergence Time Unit Pair Tool

Preserve an explicit sequence-divergence time transcription and unit without converting generations or calibrating a clock.

Description

Record the time-unit convention attached to sequence divergence.

Evolutionary summaries depend on sampled sequences/populations, reference states, ploidy, time units and stochastic assumptions. A mixture expectation differs from a drift simulation, and a callable-allele denominator differs from an individual count. Labels and local tree conditions do not reconstruct ancestry or establish a biological mechanism.

Record the time-unit convention attached to sequence divergence.

When to use this tool

Use Sequence Divergence Time Unit Pair when checking the stated evolutionary record, reference, expectation or scale convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter estimateId, timeText, suppliedUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read token. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty estimate ID, time text and supplied time unit. Encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
estimateIdEstimate IdRequired. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
timeTextTime TextRequired. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
suppliedUnitSupplied UnitRequired. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
tokenJSON-encoded ordered tuple or literal token under the convention above; not a database lookup or authentication result.Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Time text is not parsed and units are not converted; no evolutionary rate, divergence time or dating uncertainty is estimated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified samples/references and appropriate complete phylogenetic, population-genetic or statistical models for actual biological inference and uncertainty.
