Insulation Local Minimum

Find the lowest insulation score within an interior search range.

Description

An insulation-score valley is a candidate boundary signal; the tool selects a window minimum.

An insulation-score valley is a candidate boundary signal; the tool selects a window minimum.1

Find the lowest insulation score within an interior search range.

When to use Insulation Local Minimum

Use this tool to find the lowest insulation score within an interior search range.

Prepare the already measured signals, counts, coordinates, fitted coefficients or sequence strings requested. Keep assay definitions, units, aligned lists and caller-selected thresholds consistent.

How to use Insulation Local Minimum and understand its results

  1. Prepare the already measured signals, counts, coordinates, fitted coefficients or sequence strings requested. Keep assay definitions, units, aligned lists and caller-selected thresholds consistent.
  2. Enter insulationScores, minimumIndex, maximumIndex using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read localMinimumIndex, localMinimumScore, neighborDepth. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.

maximumIndexLast index to inspectinteger; minimum: 1Required

Enter at least three finite scores and ordered zero-based interior bounds. Return selected index/score and adjacent-mean minus selected score.

index=first argmin within inclusive search bounds

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

The point need not be a local minimum and contrast may be negative. No contact matrix or significance is analyzed.

Numeric inputs, where present, must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use TAD Boundary Distance: Measure adjacent TAD boundary distances. For a complementary task, use Matrix Row Balance: Measure matrix row-sum balance by coefficient of variation.
