ICE Convergence Round

Find the first ICE correction round meeting a convergence tolerance.

Description

ICE convergence monitoring examines recorded deviations against a tolerance.

ICE convergence monitoring examines recorded deviations against a tolerance.1

Find the first ICE correction round meeting a convergence tolerance.

When to use ICE Convergence Round

Use this tool to find the first ICE correction round meeting a convergence tolerance.

Prepare the already measured signals, counts, coordinates, fitted coefficients or sequence strings requested. Keep assay definitions, units, aligned lists and caller-selected thresholds consistent.

How to use ICE Convergence Round and understand its results

  1. Prepare the already measured signals, counts, coordinates, fitted coefficients or sequence strings requested. Keep assay definitions, units, aligned lists and caller-selected thresholds consistent.
  2. Enter maximumRowDeviations, convergenceTolerance using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read convergenceRound, finalDeviation, converged. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
Input fieldMeaningValue type; see rules belowRequirement
maximumRowDeviationsMaximum row-sum deviations by roundlist of numberRequired
convergenceToleranceConvergence tolerancenumber; minimum: 0Required

Enter nonempty nonnegative deviations/tolerance; return first qualifying one-based round, zero if none, convergence flag and final deviation.

round=first qualifying index +1

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

Any qualifying round sets the flag even if the final deviation fails. No iterations are executed.

Numeric inputs, where present, must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Matrix Row Balance: Measure matrix row-sum balance by coefficient of variation. For a complementary task, use Insulation Local Minimum: Find the lowest insulation score within an interior search range.
