Renewable Capture Price Weight One Hour Tool

Calculate renewable capture price weight one hour from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Return one interval’s generation weight, capture-price contribution and revenue.

Energy price comparisons require consistent delivered or input energy units, efficiency, calorific basis and reporting period. Dividing by efficiency increases the input needed for a delivered unit; nominal price differences alone need not represent a saving.

Return one interval’s generation weight, capture-price contribution and revenue.

When to use this tool

Use Renewable Capture Price Weight One Hour when checking one supplied energy-price normalization or cost contribution.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter generation, price, totalGeneration. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read weight, capturedPriceContribution, revenue. Use the output convention below.

Require positive totalGeneration and generation in [0,totalGeneration]. weight = generation/totalGeneration; capturedPriceContribution = weight*price; revenue = generation*price.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is one generation-weighted contribution, not the complete capture price. Use matching energy and currency/energy units; negative market prices are preserved.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the full tariff, operating profile and cost boundary when assessing real bills, investments or load-shifting decisions.
