Netbilling Unused Exportcredit Expiry Term Tool

Explicit aggregate credit application followed by expiry of a caller-identified unused amount; no vintage ordering is inferred.

Description

Apply an aggregate export-credit balance to imports, then cap expiry at the unused credit remaining.

Energy contracts and credit accounts distinguish quantities accrued, used, available, curtailed, expired or qualified. A numeric balance applies an explicit convention; it does not establish which contractual or market rules actually apply.

Apply an aggregate export-credit balance to imports, then cap expiry at the unused credit remaining.

When to use this tool

Use Netbilling Unused Exportcredit Expiry Term when reconciling a specified energy credit, allocation or settlement term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter openingCredit, newExportCredit, importCharge, expiringUnusedCredit. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read creditApplied, unusedBeforeExpiry, closingCredit, expired. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative openingCredit, newExportCredit, importCharge and expiringUnusedCredit. Apply min(total credit, importCharge), retain the nonnegative unused amount, then expire at most that unused amount. Return creditApplied, unusedBeforeExpiry, expired and closingCredit.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • All credits and charges use one monetary unit. Expiry is applied after imports; actual net-billing rules, vintages, tax and credit entitlement are not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review actual program rules, contract terms and dated records before treating a calculated balance or payment as due.
