Description
relativeDay = observedDay-anchorDay; deviation subtracts nominalOffset.
Study visits are often expressed relative to an anchor and nominal offset with asymmetric allowed windows. A numeric day comparison can check that supplied schedule while leaving real dates and protocol eligibility to separate review.
relativeDay = observedDay-anchorDay; deviation subtracts nominalOffset.
When to use this tool
Use Endodontic Study Visit Window Offset when checking a supplied study-visit offset and inclusive window.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter anchorDay, nominalOffset, observedDay, windowBefore, windowAfter. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read relativeDay, deviation, withinWindow. Inspect withinWindow before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative whole windowBefore and windowAfter. relativeDay = observedDay-anchorDay; deviation subtracts nominalOffset. withinWindow includes both endpoints anchorDay+nominalOffset-windowBefore and anchorDay+nominalOffset+windowAfter.1

| relativeDay | Relative Day | Required. Safe integer. |
| deviation | Deviation | Required. Safe integer. |
| withinWindow | Within Window | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use common numeric day coordinates. This checks a supplied study window, not visit eligibility under an actual protocol or an appropriate clinical follow-up interval.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the actual study protocol and calendar when deciding visit eligibility or appropriate follow-up.
