Equipment Check Expiry Offset Tool

Inspect supplied equipment-check expiry metadata without certifying readiness or usability.

Description

remainingDays = expiryDay-checkDay.

Handoff and equipment records can contain required fields, expiry labels and capacity budgets. A local consistency check can expose missing or negative entries without verifying contents, equipment condition or readiness for emergency use.

remainingDays = expiryDay-checkDay.

When to use this tool

Use Equipment Check Expiry Offset when checking a supplied training or equipment-record rule.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter checkDay, expiryDay, endIncluded. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read remainingDays, withinEndRule. Inspect withinEndRule before interpreting the associated values.

remainingDays = expiryDay-checkDay. withinEndRule uses checkDay <= expiryDay when endIncluded, otherwise checkDay < expiryDay.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Numeric day coordinates must use the same basis. The supplied expiry boundary does not verify equipment condition, maintenance status or fitness for emergency use.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect actual equipment and authoritative documentation; use professional emergency and maintenance procedures when operational readiness matters.
