Thyroid Ultrasound Axis Unit

Convert three explicitly supplied ultrasound axis lengths between centimeters and millimeters without calculating a thyroid assessment.

Description

Convert three supplied thyroid-ultrasound axes to millimetres.

Endocrine records distinguish specimen matrices, assay methods, unit bases, reference editions and sampling clocks. A printed significant-digit count differs from numerical rounding, while a fasting label is a reported state rather than verified preparation. Image axes and result labels organize supplied observations without deriving hormone physiology or clinical interpretation.

Convert three supplied thyroid-ultrasound axes to millimetres.

When to use this tool

Use Thyroid Ultrasound Axis Unit when you already have axisLengths, inputUnit and need to convert three supplied thyroid-ultrasound axes to millimetres.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter axisLengths, inputUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read millimeterLengths. Use the output convention below.

Require exactly three nonnegative axis lengths and inputUnit mm or cm; multiply each by 10 for cm input and preserve order.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Zero axes are accepted. No axes are extracted from images, orthogonality checked, volume estimated or thyroid finding interpreted.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the laboratory report, specimen and method information, reference source and collection timeline before comparing results. Use the complete appropriate assessment for a clinical question; one clock correction, diameter ratio or recorded status does not provide it.
