Description
Calculate a signed charge-number-weighted molar amount.
Electrochemical quantities require explicit electrode references, current sign, area definition and time basis. Geometric area differs from active-area conventions, charge differs from charge equivalents, and a logarithmic current coordinate needs a same-unit reference magnitude. Local sign changes and coordinate terms do not fit kinetics or establish a valid experiment.
Calculate a signed charge-number-weighted molar amount.
When to use this tool
Use Electrolyte Ion Charge Weighted Term when you already have amountMoles, chargeNumber and need to calculate a signed charge-number-weighted molar amount.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter amountMoles, chargeNumber. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read signedChargeEquivalents. Use the output convention below.
Require amountMoles>=0 and chargeNumber a signed safe integer; return amountMoles*chargeNumber.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| amountMoles | Amount Moles | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| chargeNumber | Charge Number | Required. Safe integer. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| signedChargeEquivalents | amountMoles*integer charge number, in signed molar charge equivalents rather than coulombs. | Required. Finite number. |

},
"output": {
"signedChargeEquivalents": -2

} Limitations and assumptions
- The output is signed molar charge equivalents, not coulombs. No Faraday constant, speciation, ionic strength or electroneutrality calculation is added.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect calibrated instrument records, reference-electrode details, area definitions and the complete experiment before interpreting results. Use the full electrochemical model and verified operating conditions when a local current, charge, sweep or impedance-representation term cannot answer the scientific question.
