Description
Count index inversions and return positiveSequence when that count is even.
Sinusoidal electrical calculations need a common frequency, phase reference and RMS or peak convention. Phasor sums, complex power and composite RMS describe different operations; a sign label alone does not establish a physical connection or waveform.
Count index inversions and return positiveSequence when that count is even.
When to use this tool
Use Three Phase Phase Sequence Permutation Parity when checking a stated phasor, power or RMS convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sequence. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read positiveSequence, inversions. Inspect positiveSequence before interpreting the associated values.
Require sequence to contain three distinct values in [0,2]. Count index inversions and return positiveSequence when that count is even.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sequence | Sequence | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| positiveSequence | Positive Sequence | Required. Boolean. |
| inversions | Inversions | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The labels refer to the supplied permutation of a declared positive reference order. No waveform, physical phase rotation or connection safety is measured.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use compatible measured waveforms and a complete circuit or harmonic model when signals are distorted, references differ or practical limits matter.
