Description
branchCurrent = totalCurrent/(1+branchResistance*otherConductance).
Ideal electrical component relations assume a stated topology, fixed parameters and coherent units. A local voltage, current or transformation term can be algebraically valid without accounting for parasitics, ratings or safe practical connections.
branchCurrent = totalCurrent/(1+branchResistance*otherConductance).
When to use this tool
Use Electricity: Resistor Conductance Weighted Current Share when checking one explicit ideal-component or divider relationship.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter totalCurrent, branchResistance, otherConductance. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.
Require positive branchResistance and nonnegative otherConductance. branchCurrent = totalCurrent/(1+branchResistance*otherConductance).1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use reciprocal resistance and conductance units so their product is dimensionless. Signed total current is preserved; branches are ideal resistors and no circuit solvability check is performed.
- Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete circuit model and qualified practical design when loading, nonlinearity, transients or safety limits matter.
