Current Divider Conductance Fraction Tool

Calculate current divider conductance fraction from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

fraction = branchConductance/totalConductance; branchCurrent = totalCurrent*fraction.

Ideal electrical component relations assume a stated topology, fixed parameters and coherent units. A local voltage, current or transformation term can be algebraically valid without accounting for parasitics, ratings or safe practical connections.

fraction = branchConductance/totalConductance; branchCurrent = totalCurrent*fraction.

When to use this tool

Use Current Divider Conductance Fraction when checking one explicit ideal-component or divider relationship.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter totalCurrent, branchConductance, totalConductance. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read branchCurrent, fraction. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative branchConductance and positive totalConductance with branch <= total. fraction = branchConductance/totalConductance; branchCurrent = totalCurrent*fraction.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Conductances use one unit. The total is supplied, not reconstructed from a branch list, and signed current is a reference choice rather than a detected flow direction.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a complete circuit model and qualified practical design when loading, nonlinearity, transients or safety limits matter.
