Learner Response Time Censored Flag Tool

Calculate learner response time censored flag from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

recordedLatency = min(latency, timeout); censored tests latency >= timeout when equalityCensored, otherwise latency > timeout.

Educational time and material budgets need explicit working time, pauses, transitions, capacity and rate conventions. A numerical schedule allocation is a planning aid, not a validated recommendation for learning pace or an automatically feasible timetable.

recordedLatency = min(latency, timeout); censored tests latency >= timeout when equalityCensored, otherwise latency > timeout.

When to use this tool

Use Learner Response Time Censored Flag when checking a supplied teaching, study or assessment-resource budget.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter latency, timeout, equalityCensored. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordedLatency, censored. Inspect censored before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative latency and positive timeout. recordedLatency = min(latency, timeout); censored tests latency >= timeout when equalityCensored, otherwise latency > timeout.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The equality rule is explicit and capping occurs either way. This does not infer why a response is missing or perform survival analysis.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the actual timetable, resources, learner needs and approved policies to assess a practical plan.
