Formative Feedback Delay One Item Tool

Calculate formative feedback delay one item from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

wallDelay is that difference; activeDelay subtracts pauseSeconds.

Educational time and material budgets need explicit working time, pauses, transitions, capacity and rate conventions. A numerical schedule allocation is a planning aid, not a validated recommendation for learning pace or an automatically feasible timetable.

wallDelay is that difference; activeDelay subtracts pauseSeconds.

When to use this tool

Use Formative Feedback Delay One Item when checking a supplied teaching, study or assessment-resource budget.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter submissionSeconds, feedbackSeconds, pauseSeconds. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read wallDelay, activeDelay. Use the output convention below.

Require feedbackSeconds >= submissionSeconds and pauseSeconds between zero and their difference. wallDelay is that difference; activeDelay subtracts pauseSeconds.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Times are seconds on one clock basis. Supplied pauses are not detected, and a shorter delay is not automatically evidence of more effective feedback.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the actual timetable, resources, learner needs and approved policies to assess a practical plan.
