Description

exposureFraction = seen/administrations.

Assessment coverage can refer to scored items, applicable items, observation counts or total weights. A support share depends on those choices and is separate from a final score, a validated scale or an inference about a learner.

exposureFraction = seen/administrations.

When to use this tool

Use Question Bank Exposure One Item Term when checking an explicit assessment or observation-support denominator.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter seen, administrations. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read exposureFraction. Use the output convention below.

Require whole administrations >= 1 and seen between zero and administrations. exposureFraction = seen/administrations.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The denominator is administrations, not necessarily distinct learners. It does not detect item leakage, estimate exposure risk or determine a bank-security threshold.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the assessment design, missing-item policy and observation method before interpreting coverage as valid achievement evidence.
