Description
totalMinutes = recordingMinutes/playbackSpeed+pauseMinutes.
Educational time and material budgets need explicit working time, pauses, transitions, capacity and rate conventions. A numerical schedule allocation is a planning aid, not a validated recommendation for learning pace or an automatically feasible timetable.
totalMinutes = recordingMinutes/playbackSpeed+pauseMinutes.
When to use this tool
Use Lecture Playback Time Pause Adjustment when checking a supplied teaching, study or assessment-resource budget.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recordingMinutes, playbackSpeed, pauseMinutes. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read totalMinutes. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative recordingMinutes and pauseMinutes and positive playbackSpeed. totalMinutes = recordingMinutes/playbackSpeed+pauseMinutes.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| recordingMinutes | Recording Minutes | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| playbackSpeed | Playback Speed | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| pauseMinutes | Pause Minutes | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| totalMinutes | Total Minutes | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Pauses are added after speed adjustment. This assumes uniform playback speed and does not estimate comprehension, buffering or interactive activity duration.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
