Event Time Treatment Date Offset

Reference an observation date to an explicitly supplied treatment date in signed calendar days without estimating treatment effects.

Description

Measure signed calendar event days relative to a supplied treatment date.

Econometric calculations separate supplied residuals, regressors, weights, restrictions, panel groups and reference periods. One score or moment contribution is not a fitted estimator, and one scalar covariance term is not a standard error. Unit rescaling and event-time arithmetic preserve conventions without establishing model identification or causal interpretation.

Measure signed calendar event days relative to a supplied treatment date.

When to use this tool

Use Event Time Treatment Date Offset when you already have observationDate, treatmentDate and need to measure signed calendar event days relative to a supplied treatment date.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observationDate, treatmentDate. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read eventDay. Use the output convention below.

Parse real UTC YYYY-MM-DD dates; return observationDate-treatmentDate in days, with treatment date equal to event day zero.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • No treatment assignment, exposure timing, comparison group, event-study coefficient or causal effect is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Fit and evaluate the full specified model with appropriate data, grouping and uncertainty treatment for inference. Aggregate the required score/moment terms and use the complete covariance calculation; a local residual, cutoff flag or supplied coefficient transformation does not validate the estimator.
