Description
Return one amino acid's measured-to-reference ratio and percentage score.
A food nutrient amount depends on mass, composition, retention and the chosen reference or exchange convention. Nitrogen-derived protein and a single amino-acid ratio are analytical terms rather than complete measures of dietary adequacy.
Return one amino acid's measured-to-reference ratio and percentage score.
When to use this tool
Use Amino Acid Score One Reference Ratio when checking a supplied nutrient amount, protein factor or reporting normalization.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter measuredPerProtein, referencePerProtein. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read ratio, scorePercent. Use the output convention below.
Return one amino acid's measured-to-reference ratio and percentage score. Require nonnegative measuredPerProtein and positive referencePerProtein; ratio = measured/reference and scorePercent = 100*ratio.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| measuredPerProtein | Measured Per Protein | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| referencePerProtein | Positive reference amino-acid amount per protein amount, on the same basis as measuredPerProtein. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| ratio | Ratio | Required. Finite number. |
| scorePercent | Score Percent Unit: %. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Use compatible amino-acid amounts per protein mass; no digestibility correction or complete protein-quality score is computed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use appropriate food-composition and analytical sources, and professional dietary guidance for individual requirements or treatment plans.
