Cell Cycle Missing Phase Budget Tool

Signed phase-duration budget; equal allocation is explicitly conditional, not a biological estimate.

Loading tool…

Description

Return an unassigned cell-cycle duration and conditional equal-share allocation.

Developmental stages and lineages can be represented by labels, ordered events and observation intervals. Index and time differences preserve a declared representation but do not discover lineage, assign stage or establish biological equivalence.

Return an unassigned cell-cycle duration and conditional equal-share allocation.

When to use this tool

Use Cell Cycle Missing Phase Budget when checking an explicit stage, lineage or observation-coordinate convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter knownDurations, totalCycle, unobservedPhaseCount. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read unassignedDuration, equalShareIfAssumed. Use the output convention below.

Return an unassigned cell-cycle duration and conditional equal-share allocation. Require nonnegative cycle/durations and nonnegative whole unobservedPhaseCount; subtract known durations, divide by phase count when positive, otherwise return equalShareIfAssumed = 0.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
knownDurationsKnown DurationsRequired. Array of finite number; maximum items 256.
totalCycleTotal CycleRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
unobservedPhaseCountUnobserved Phase CountRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
unassignedDurationUnassigned DurationRequired. Finite number.
equalShareIfAssumedUnassigned duration divided by unobservedPhaseCount, or zero when that count is zero; equal division is an assumption.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative remainders remain visible; zero share with no unobserved phases is a placeholder, not inferred duration.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original biological evidence and its staging or lineage model before drawing mechanistic conclusions.
