Research Lesion ID Token Tool

Extract an opaque deidentified research identifier without diagnostic classification.

Description

Extract a research lesion's local ID from a supplied namespace prefix.

Skin-image research can record scale, annotation geometry, visibility and timing. Pixel counts, mask components and supplied metadata are technical summaries rather than disease findings or proof an image is suitable for diagnosis.

Extract a research lesion's local ID from a supplied namespace prefix.

When to use this tool

Use Research Lesion ID Token when checking a supplied dermatology research image or annotation record.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter identifier, namespace, separator. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read localToken. Use the output convention below.

Extract a research lesion's local ID from a supplied namespace prefix. Require nonempty namespace/separator, identifier starting with their concatenation and nonempty remainder; return localToken.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This parses metadata without verifying lesion identity, uniqueness, participant information or a clinical finding.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated imaging and professional clinical assessment for any health interpretation; validate annotation and measurement methods separately.
