Description
Check a recorded response against a supplied allowed list and missing sentinel.
Dental records depend on surface notation, assessed and excluded denominators, missing versus observed zero, reporting quanta and recorded equipment dates. Calendar-day counts can be elapsed or inclusive, and nominal expiry comparisons do not establish sterility. Local surface fractions and source labels are not automatically validated clinical indices.
Check a recorded response against a supplied allowed list and missing sentinel.
When to use this tool
Use Oral Care Self Report Frequency Code when you already have response, allowedResponses, missingCode and need to check a recorded response against a supplied allowed list and missing sentinel.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter response, allowedResponses, missingCode. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read recognized, missing. Inspect recognized, missing before interpreting the associated values.
Require missingCode absent from allowedResponses; return literal response membership and response===missingCode separately.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| response | Response | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| allowedResponses | Allowed Responses | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| missingCode | Missing Code | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| recognized | Exact allowedResponses membership; an unrecognized nonmissing response can set both flags false. | Required. Boolean. |
| missing | Missing | Required. Boolean. |

"output": {

} Limitations and assumptions
- Duplicates and empty allowed entries are accepted if distinct from the missing code. An unrecognized nonmissing response sets both flags false; no frequency or behavior is interpreted.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use original chart, observation and reprocessing records with the complete scoring or controlled workflow. Keep denominator, missingness and date conventions explicit; local arithmetic does not determine oral-health status, appropriate recall intervals or readiness for care.
