Description
Compare gross and net pension replacement rates.
Demographic economic terms combine population, monetary flows, taxes and discount conventions. A local cohort contribution or supplied income comparison is not a complete fiscal projection, benefit entitlement or individual financial forecast.
Compare gross and net pension replacement rates.
When to use this tool
Use Retirement Replacement Rate Gross Net Gap when checking one declared cohort financial or fiscal contribution.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter grossPension, grossWage, pensionTax, wageTax. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read grossRate, netRate, gap. Use the output convention below.
Compare gross and net pension replacement rates. Require positive grossWage, nonnegative taxes, pension >= pensionTax and wage > wageTax; return pension/wage, net pension/net wage and net-minus-gross gap.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Money must cover matching periods; actual tax liability and pension entitlement are not determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
