Description
Calculate a supplied retirement-age cohort year and month.
Demographic economic terms depend on age-window boundaries, population scope, household equivalence units and supplied fiscal assumptions. A worker-share change is not an estimated demographic dividend, and endpoint survivors times duration differ from integrated life-table person-years. Local pension or subsidy calculations do not determine actual eligibility or entitlement.
Calculate a supplied retirement-age cohort year and month.
When to use this tool
Use Retirement Age Cohort Date when you already have birthYear, birthMonth, retirementAgeYears and need to calculate a supplied retirement-age cohort year and month.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter birthYear, birthMonth, retirementAgeYears. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read retirementYear, retirementMonth. Use the output convention below.
Require birth year 1..9999, month 1..12 and whole age 0..9998; retirementYear=birthYear+age must stay <=9999, month is preserved.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This is month-level addition without a birthday or day rule. No actual retirement age, eligibility, pension entitlement or employment law is selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use complete population, cohort, labor and fiscal records with the chosen equivalence and exposure definitions. Review applicable benefit rules and estimate the appropriate model for policy analysis; one supplied allocation or accounting ratio does not establish behavior or economic effects.
