Population Fiscal Person Residual

Reconcile explicit population, linked fiscal-person and excluded-person counts while retaining signed discrepancies.

Loading tool…

Description

Calculate a signed population-to-fiscal-person reconciliation residual.

Demographic economic terms depend on age-window boundaries, population scope, household equivalence units and supplied fiscal assumptions. A worker-share change is not an estimated demographic dividend, and endpoint survivors times duration differ from integrated life-table person-years. Local pension or subsidy calculations do not determine actual eligibility or entitlement.

Calculate a signed population-to-fiscal-person reconciliation residual.

When to use this tool

Use Population Fiscal Person Residual when you already have populationCount, linkedFiscalPersons, excludedPersons and need to calculate a signed population-to-fiscal-person reconciliation residual.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter populationCount, linkedFiscalPersons, excludedPersons. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read unreconciledPersons. Use the output convention below.

Require all counts nonnegative safe integers; return populationCount-linkedFiscalPersons-excludedPersons.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
populationCountPopulation CountRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
linkedFiscalPersonsLinked Fiscal PersonsRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
excludedPersonsExcluded PersonsRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
unreconciledPersonsPopulation-linked-excluded; negative safe integer discrepancies are retained.Required. Safe integer.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative residuals are retained and unsafe integer outputs rejected. Disjoint groups and matching population scope are assumed; no linkage or actual person identity is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use complete population, cohort, labor and fiscal records with the chosen equivalence and exposure definitions. Review applicable benefit rules and estimate the appropriate model for policy analysis; one supplied allocation or accounting ratio does not establish behavior or economic effects.
